That poor Rite Aid cashier

She always says hello and smiles at me, but I can see in her eyes.  The curse words are glaring behind her grin :)

I think I overheard her say that her name is Wanda.  Wanda: I am terribly sorry.  I know I am the hardest customer.  And it doesn't help that I arrive mere seconds after your day starts.  I have been up for 4 hours already.  You probably just woke up an hour ago.  I sincerely apologize.  I promise not to bother you for an entire week.

Here is how I made out this week.

Total out of pocket: $29.57.  Total savings: $83.81.  Total expected back in Single Check Rebates: $43.90.

Yup - They paid me $14.33 to shop today.  I had to break it up into 3 transactions (Again Wanda, I'm so sorry.  I might bake you a pie...maybe cookies...)

Transaction #1: $0.67 (Saved $38.41 - $11.67 of that was Up Rewards from a previous purchase)

Transaction #2: $12.02 (Saved $24.98)

Transaction #3: 16.88 (Saved $20.42)

Some of the stuff I bought I won't ever use.  I only use Tylenol for the kids.  We don't really use much medicine for children.  But, I had to buy them in order to get paid!  Purchasing that stuff allowed me a pack of diapers for free and some new makeup!!

Thank you Wanda!!!

  1. Great job! I apologized to the checker as I handed over my coupons a couple of weeks ago and she said "I'd much rather be doing this than doing "go backs."" My husband's working at CVS while going to grad school and he agrees... but he's been excited about couponing since he's seen how much we can save!

  2. I absolute this post, I had to read it out loud to my husband, as this is how I feel quite often.

I also end up apologizing, and thanking the cashier for their patience, and at the grocery store I make sure to let the people attempting to get behind me that I have a boatload of coupons.

    You did fantastic!

Thank you for participating in last week’s Weekly Savings Linky, I hope you will link up again at the Weekly Savings Linky @ Frugality Is Free , it’s a great place to connect with other frugalistas. Did you become the Top Frugalista of the week?

  4. I have gotten to where I apologize for all the coupons too. I know I don't have to, but admitting that I know it is a lot for them to deal with (with many beeping for no reason), usually keeps them a little happier with me in the end. way to go on your deals!
