1) I'm out of the first trimester. The baby is healthy and growing! Now that I don't feel nauseous or fatigued, we have been out of the house as much as possible. Here are a few of our recent excursions :)

2) I wrote last week about how our schedule was full. We were a busy group with places to go, people to see, dragons to kill, etc. You know, more of the same. The morning that Leo arranged the above ensemble was the morning I announced we were going to see helicopters and airplanes at the airport! My old neighbor is a very creative, action-oriented mom and invited us to join her in an excursion to the local airport.
The day we picked for the airport was one of the most beautiful days we have had all year.
Kim watches her friends sons 3 times a week. Only 2 are hers :)
After checking out all the airplanes, we decided to sit next to the runway and eat lunch.
The entertainment was non-stop!!

3) We originally wanted to check out a helicopter up close but they were all in use. The gentleman who runs the school scheduled a date for us to come back and check them out. How cool is that?!?!
This is about all the excitement Elena had...digging through my wallet for business cards. She was acting too cool for school in front of all the boys :)
I tried to put her on the seat but this was as close as I got.

4) We even made a trip to the DC Zoo with my sister and her 4 younger kids. The DC Zoo is free - if you pay for parking. But the zoo is on a very steep incline. The trick is to start at the bottom and work your way up. Or to get a wheelchair and have someone wheel you up the hill at the end...
Our family has always acknowledged that Elena makes the most perfect little monkey faces. She likes to stick out her lips and then she REALLY resembles a monkey. She doesn't see the resemblance...
The DC Zoo has a variety of animals in their natural habitats!
It was about 80 degrees so jumping in the misters was a must!!!

5) We even made a trip to the local pumpkin patch for a hayride!
Elena tried her absolute best to pick up every pumpkin she saw.
Leo decided to pick a size-appropriate pumpkin so he didn't embarrass himself
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
6) I have no idea where to take them next?!?! But just in case I announce departure for another fun adventure, Leo is ALWAYS prepared to run out the door.
Elena? Not so much. She needs a little warning time.
